PROS integrate treatment, skills training, vocational rehabilitation, and support to facilitate a participant's recovery. In a safe and caring environment, participants are directly involved in all aspects of their services, from goal setting to individual recovery plan development and implementation. There is a strong focus on participant and family participation as well as evaluation of outcomes. Participants are encouraged to engage in community activities, adult education classes, and other opportunities that strengthen their supports and overall quality of life. PROS also place an emphasis on helping participants find meaningful employment, which is strongly linked to positive mental health.Position Summary:The Recovery Vocational Specialist is a member of the multidisciplinary PROS team and is a combination of two key areas that help make the PROS program successful. The two key areas are the Recovery Advisor function and the Vocational Specialist function. The Recovery Advisor function focuses on offering individual and group psychiatric rehabilitation services and the Vocational Specialist function focuses on assisting participants in achieving vocational goals and improving employment outcomes in PROS. These two key functions help the PROS participants meet their individualized recovery goals. Overall, it is important this position has the ability to multitask between the two main functions and the other tasks that arise.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain a caseload of program participant who are employed or working towards employment and/or program participants who are not employed or not working towards employment.Provide individual intake interviews, assessments, recovery planning and provide individual recovery services.Provide support services in the community to individuals who are enrolled in PROS and employed.Assist in improving employment outcomes in PROS through networking with employers, connecting with other employment agencies/services and providing vocational services to program participants.Provide evidence-based intervention as indicated by participant need.Facilitate recovery oriented and vocational rehabilitation groups.Provide other individual recovery services as required, including assisting participants with securing benefits, housing, employment, and other basic needs.Participate and lead activities, social events and lunch volunteering opportunities.Provide all services within the values and philosophies of the PROS Program.Accurately document all services and maintain timely case records within agency policies and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with other PROS staff the provision of crisis services and co-occurring disorder treatment.Coordinate participant recovery efforts with collateral contacts and other treatment providers.Promote participants community integration and inclusion.Keep certifications current and attend workshops, conferences and trainings.Exercise good professional judgment.Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.Demonstrate reliability and conscientiousness.Strong communication and team building skills.Implementation of agency policies/decisions.Demonstrates good organization and time management skills.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsPhysical Requirements:Able to sit for long periods of timeAbility to drive agency vehicleOccasional lifting of 20 lbsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Creative/Expressive Arts, Drug/Alcohol Counseling, Human Services or other related field.Knowledge of mental illness and recovery concepts required.Clean, valid NYS Drivers' License.Preferred Qualifications:Two years' experience in Human Services.Schedule:Monday through FridayWe are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b), Flexible Spending Accounts, Paid Time off, paid holidays, Group Life, Short -Term Disability and more!Equinox, Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other legally protected status.Salary Description$21.00 - $23.00
