Recreation Field Technician - 525253Job no: 525253 Work type: Regular Full-time (Benefits eligible) Location: Tuscaloosa Categories: Maintenance/Skilled Trades/Service, Recreation, Facilities/ GroundsPay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $15.00 - Midpoint: $17.26 (Hourly N1)Department/Organization: 820603 - UREC Facility OperationsNormal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30am to 2:30pmJob Summary: The Recreation Field Technician maintains and prepares the Recreation Field complex for the multi sports activities.Additional Department Summary: Assists in the daily assessment and maintenance of University Recreation fields complex, surrounding grounds, and other UREC managed properties. Assists in field lining, set up, irrigation repair, landscaping, maintenance of equipment, and maintaining all other University Recreation managed grounds and properties. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.Required Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated commitment to expanding multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills as evidenced through demonstrating self-awareness; understanding and valuing others; demonstrating knowledge of social inequalities; interacting effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.Preferred Qualifications: High School diploma or GED.Background Investigation Statement: Prior to hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.
