Our programs are well-established and very well attended- you will never be bored! You'll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced recreation professionals, contribute creative ideas, and make a meaningful impact on the Auburn community. Whether you're leading activities, assisting with logistics, or helping run large-scale events, this role will provide practical experience to support your future career in parks and recreation. Help plan and implement summer programs within the department including:
  • Youth Camps
  • Teen Camps
  • Adventure Camps
  • Bike programs
  • Events
  • And more!
Primary Duties In this role, you will:
  • Assist the recreation division in planning and running summer camps
  • Gain hands-on experience in program coordination
  • Contribute to both large and small-scale events
  • Learn about program development and implementation

Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for this internship position, you must:
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent; AND
  • Be enrolled in a Recreation or related field degree program (Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's); AND
  • Possess and retain a valid state driver's license without impending loss.
You will be required to obtain a valid CPR and First Aid certificate within three (3) weeks of appointment if you are not already certified. You may be required to obtain a King County Public Health Department Food Handler's Permit within one (1) month of employment as a condition of work. We are asking for a commitment through our 10-week program, from June 16th - August 22nd, 2025. Preference will be given to candidates that are available to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the program. If you are a top candidate, your availability and assigned schedule will be discussed with you before moving into the background check process.
