Are you looking for a part-time job? Lincoln City Community Center is currently recruiting for a Part-Time Recreation Leader I to work in our RecKids Programs. Typical hours of work are 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, but during Holidays and Summer could be more. Will not work more than 20 hours per week.TO APPLY: Fill out the City of Lincoln City's online application at Questions about the recruitment should be directed to:Nina Graham, Human Resources [email protected]###-####RequirementsPURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist the Recreation Leader III with any combination of specific tasks in the recreation field requiring basic knowledge of the programs assigned, including summer camp, after school program or special events assistance. Ensure safe, fun and appropriate behavior through oversight of camp participants.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Assist with hands-on instruction and guidance to children and youth participants. This includes, assisting with an arts and crafts activity, group game and/or field trip. It also includes active interaction and participation with the children in planned programs.Attend to and oversee the safety and welfare of children and youth program participants inside and outside, including the Community Center pool.Maintain accurate and detailed records as assigned.Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff and the general public. Ability to work independently, including open and closing programs.Follow all safety rules and procedures. Maintain program equipment in safe working order. Notify appropriate individuals of needed repairs. Order supplies as directed.Other related duties as assigned.AUXILIARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide assistance to other staff as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain proficiency by attending required training. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, balance, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 15 pounds on a regular basis and may infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 70% of the work period while operating program equipment (such as sporting equipment or arts and crafts supplies) and/or computer keyboard, calculator, telephone and other standard office equipment.WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions will vary depending on assigned programs and may involve considerable exposure to outside environments as well as an aquatic environment. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of the Recreation Coordinator.
