Job Summary

Do you have a passion for recreation, leadership, and community engagement? The City of St. Peters is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Recreation Supervisor - Aquatics to coordinate, organize, and supervise a variety of recreation programs and special events. This role includes overseeing staff, managing facilities, and ensuring high-quality recreation experiences for participants of all ages.

As a Recreation Supervisor, you'll play a critical role in developing innovative programs, maintaining safe and efficient operations, and serving as a leader within the community. If you're ready to bring energy, creativity, and leadership to our team, this is the opportunity for you!

Normal Shift: Mon-Sun (Varies); 40 hours weekly (Hours are dependent on seasonal changes)

Key Responsibilities

* Leadership and Staff Management:

* Provide supervision, orientation, training, scheduling, and evaluation of staff.

* Make recommendations on hiring and terminations.

* Direct on-the-job training related to safety, equipment use, and work methods.

* Program and Event Coordination:

* Plan, develop, and oversee recreation programs and special events for a diverse range of participants.

* Supervise, coordinate, and personally participate in recreation activities and facility rentals.

* Maintain and manage recreational equipment and facilities, ensuring all meet safety standards.

* Customer and Community Engagement:

* Address inquiries, concerns, and complaints from customers and residents.

* Promote recreation programs through publications and other promotional materials.

* Serve as Rec-Plex Manager-on-Duty as required.

* Administrative Responsibilities:

* Assist in budget planning, scheduling, and purchasing of materials and supplies.

* Maintain updated recreation information in promotional materials.

* Ensure adherence to City safety standards in all operations.

Minimum Requirements:

* Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

* Associate of Arts Degree in Recreation or related field and two (2) years of applicable experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri.

* Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.

* Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

* Must be able to physically participate in recreation programs and activities.

* Ellis and Associates, Red Cross, StarGuard, or equivalent lifeguard certification within the last two years.

* Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Certification within ninety (90) days of employment, provided by the City if needed.

* Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor Certified or obtain within one (1) year.

* Certification as a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or obtain within six (6) months.
