**Description**

**Must have inpatient rehab (IRF) experience.**

**Hours:** Tuesday - Saturday, 10am-6:30pm or 11am-7:30pm (optional Saturday hours 8am-4:30pm).

+ Administers comprehensive clinical services to patients; provides testing, analyses and evaluations of seriously ill patients or those having complex medical problems and formulates a treatment plan which is consistent with the patient's needs.

+ Assists in supervising staff and students and in developing in-service training programs for continuing staff development.

+ Maintains established inventory of supplies; ensures the proper use and maintenance of equipment and maintains a work area which is free of debris and clutter.

+ Assists the Program Manager/Supervisor in developing, evaluating and revising policies and procedures related to patient care and clinical program development.

+ Monitors daily practices for consistency with established standards for patient care.

+ Participates in routine evaluations of quality assurance activities.

+ Assists with supervision of staff and students.

+ Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.

+ Assists in developing staff schedules.

+ Communicates regularly with members of the patient care team, the patient, family members and others involved with the patient's care.

+ Responds to requests for professional information or advice and refers more complex matters to the appropriate staff.

+ Assists the Program Manager/Supervisor in maintaining a clear and accurate interdisciplinary and interdepartmental information flow.

+ Provides patient and family education, instructing and training patients and families regarding pertinent aspects of the patient's care.

+ Assess and assists the staff in assessing complex patients and problems.

+ Provides direct patient care to complex patients; performs specialized treatments according to the patient's individualized plan of care.

+ Provides patient with increased knowledge and skill within an identified area of expertise.

+ Plans, develops and implements a results oriented treatment plan responsive to the individualized needs of the patient which includes clear and measurable goals.

+ Modifies treatment plan according to the patient's response.

+ Collaborates with other members of the patient care team and utilizes community resources to plan for the continued care, support and follow-up of the patient after discharge.

+ Recommends and procures appropriate equipment.

+ Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development.

+ Attends educational in-services as appropriate.

+ Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.

+ Follows established protocols for documentation specific to the program/setting.

+ Accurately records daily charges for services rendered.

+ Practices organizational and universal standards for sterile technique and infection control in carrying out daily responsibilities including the proper cleaning and sterilization of work surfaces, equipment and instruments.

+ Assists in the development of staff and provides in-service education.

+ Mentors clinical staff by providing skills training in their area of expertise.

+ Provides consultation and direct assistance to staff and physicians in the management of patients.

+ Assists in providing consultation related to clinical management to the professional community and community at large.

+ Assists the Program Manager/Supervisor in performing peer reviews.

+ Participates in committees addressing patient care related matters or other committees as requested by the Program Manager/Supervisor.

+ May support and participate in research activities as requested.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ A bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation.

+ National Certification from the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification.

+ Two years experience.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
