Recruiter / Human Resources Generalist

The Recruiter / HR Generalist will collaborate with the Human Resources Business Partner on various projects related to, among others, recruiting, HR compliance, onboarding & orientation, and employee benefits.

Position Functions:

  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies in multiple locations to attract top talent, ensuring alignment with business needs and organizational culture.
  • Post job openings across relevant platforms, review resumes for key qualifications and utilize advanced sourcing techniques to identify potential candidates.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and facilitate the selection process.
  • Collaborate on the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork, payroll system setup, and training schedules, ensuring a smooth start for new employees.
  • Manage offboarding processes, including termination paperwork, final payroll adjustments, and benefits cessation.
  • Maintain and update employee files and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Manage forms and documentation, including compliance forms, performance records, and benefits-related documents.
  • Generate reports on HR metrics for leadership, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Address and troubleshoot employee benefits issues, acting as the primary liaison between employees and benefits providers.
  • Address employee relations matters, help conduct investigations, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, provincial, and local labor laws across the US and Canada, maintaining compliance with employment standards and workplace safety regulations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of proven experience in recruiting and human resources.

HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) required, or in process.

Bilingual - English / Spanish, required. French language, an asset.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in US labor laws, employment standards, health & safety, and best practicies
  • Experience in a multi-site environment, an asset
  • Competency in Microsoft office and other data entry software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with external and internal clients
  • Versatility and strong willingness to learn and perform more than assigned tasks
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks without constant supervision
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic intercultural environment in multiple locations across the US and Canada
