Ponte Family Estate Winery opened in 2003 and is a California based company operating in the heart of the Temecula Wine Country. We have been farming our vineyards since 1984 and are a real working winery, growing and producing over 20 estate grown varietals within certified sustainable facilities.

We are located right next to our Four Diamond, 90 room, boutique hotel Ponte Vineyard Inn. We are surrounded by 300 acres of mature vineyards and views of rolling hills. We are a short drive from most of Southern California and enjoy hosting folks who want a break from city life. Our guests visit us seeking a relaxing day or overnight stay in the country.

Summary:

You will be a candidate for this role if you have exceptional skills and extensive training in screening resumes, interviewing, knowledge of state and federal employment laws, and exceptional analytical, communication and computer skills.

The Recruiter will manage the full cycle recruiting process for three hospitality-based sister Companies including two working wineries and one hotel with over 200 employees. The recruiter will serve as the primary point of contact for all hiring managers and will report to the HR Manager and/or HR Specialist.

Compensation: $25.00 -$27.00 hourly DOE

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 9:00am -5:30pm

HR Recruiter Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full cycle of the recruiting process across multiple departments.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to define and qualify requirements, write job descriptions, and implement proactive recruiting strategies.
  • Work closely with the Controller and Payroll in connection with compensation metrics.
  • Source and screen candidates through the Companies applicant data tracking software, and by networking, cold calling, and conducting industry research.
  • Schedule and conducts interviews.
  • Conduct background, drug and reference checks in coordination with the HR Coordinator.
  • Utilize recruiting tools and other tools to maximize high quality candidate flow.
  • Build and develop applicant sources from community sources and attend career fairs.
  • Work closely with hiring Manager's to execute effective sourcing, assessment, and hiring of highly qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting, Payroll and Marketing departments.
  • Produce weekly recruiting report to the HR Manager, General Manager and Controller.
  • If the duties are modified, the recruiter will be expected to perform those modified duties as well as any other duty as directed by the HR Manager, General Manager or Controller.

  • Physical Skills –Be able to sit, stand or walk between properties for substantial periods of the workday. Be able to use multi-level staircases and walk on various materials including, asphalt, dirt, pebble, rock, brick, tile and concrete. The recruiter will also be required to bend, open and close file cabinets, use a computer, and lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.

HR Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct HR Orientation for new hires, including talking points, videos, safety training, and other videos per department requirements.
  • Schedule and facilitate leadership meetings and any required associate training, as needed. (Sexual Harassment, Safety Training, Leadership IQ, etc.)
  • Verify I-9 documentation during new hire orientation.
  • Calendar, track, and coordinate associate Referral Bonus payments with payroll.
  • MPP (Meal Plan Penalties) tracking, process write-ups and distribute to managers.
  • Assist with ordering, creating, and distributing name badges for new hires.
  • Print and bind associate handbooks.
  • Print and create New Hire/Orientation folders.
  • Create and maintain all HR department binders (EEO, 8850, Election to Participate, IIPP, etc.) for accuracy.
  • Create and maintain employment files. Scanning and renaming documents with pre-set naming conventions and uploading them to online HR filing system.
  • Create and maintain requisition posts in ADP on a weekly basis.
  • Assist with maintaining office supplies for all winery departments through Staples ordering.
  • Assist with creating and updating HR documents and job description templates, as needed.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Assist the HR Manager and/or HR Specialist with assigned projects.
  • Collect and verify received documents from all departments.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the HR Manager and/or HR Specialist.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent recruiting experience.
  • College degree preferred or extensive experience.
  • References for proven track record.
  • Strong experience with applicant tracking systems, preferable ATS.
  • Knowledge of California and federal employment laws and regulations regarding hiring.
  • Exceptional computer skills. Must be proficient in ADP, WordPerfect and Excel.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate strong phone, verbal and written skills.
  • Use sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality consistently.
  • Establish priorities, work independently, and meet objectives.
