ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time, non-exempt administrative position of Recruitment and Retention Specialist.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist serves as an administrator and is directly responsible to the Associate Dean of Recruitment and Outreach. The primary function of this position relates directly to the recruitment and retention of prospective students and requires independent judgment and a thorough understanding of a wide-range of information about admissions, enrollment, and graduation requirements. Participation in college and corporate day/night programs and the planning and organization of recruitment activities/events are a major component of the position. Start and end periods of the day may vary dependent upon scheduling of events/programming. Excellent speaking and communication skills are required in working with a wide range of people including students from elementary through college level, community professionals, and the public at large. Travel throughout the district is involved, as are presentations to small and large groups. Project assignments may vary from year to year based on office objectives and skills of the Admissions staff. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline is required. Master's degree in an appropriate area is desirable.
2. Work experience in student development, admissions, or marketing is preferred. Public speaking is a plus.
3. Ability to lift heavy (50 lbs) boxes including display materials.
4. Valid Driver's License and auto insurance required.
5. Experience with web-based technology preferred.
6. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
SALARY
Grade 1 on the Administrative Salary Scale, ranging from $37,550 to $46,950 per year.
WORK LOCATION
Belleville Campus with responsibility for recruiting and assisting in admissions on a district-wide basis.
