Calibration / testing of refinery instrumentation (Process pH probes, magnetic separators etc.) Essential Job Functions
- Repair minor problems that arise with equipment and machines, including but not limited to: gaskets, couplers, broken chains, air knockers, minor alignment issues and worn part replacement;
- Troubleshoot and assist with overall process problems that arise, including but not limited to identifying sources of equipment malfunction and fluid leaks
- Assist in scheduling equipment time for reliability department, including but not limited to oil changes, belt changes and PM's
- Clean, organize and maintain an inventory of spare parts
- Enter work requests into SAP
- Complete documentation following company guidelines and in a timely manner.
- Communicate repair orders to appropriate personnel in a timely manner;
- Calibrate pH and/or conductivity probes;
- Strength test magnetic separators
- Maintain / organize the refinery tools and spare parts in a 5S compliant manner
- Assist in the completion of Safe Work Permits, Lock Out Tag, 1st line breaks as needed
- Perform preventative maintenance on refinery equipment
- Adhere to all regulatory and safety regulations required by PSM, MOC, OSHA, Food Safety, CJ Bio America, and State of Iowa;
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment and maintenance
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
- Work in a safe manner;
- Proficient computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, SAP
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Thorough understand of safety and regulatory practices, guidelines, rules and laws
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Business needs may require additional hours worked, including overtime as needed and approved by management.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call
- This position works in production areas; Exposures include moving parts, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmospheric conditions, hot and cold temperatures, chemicals, high pressure steam and dust, and outdoor weather conditions
- This position does not supervise the work of others
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling as required
- Frequently ascends/descends stairs and ladders, and works at heights using safety fall protection
- Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines
- This position will use hand and power tools regularly, and may operate heavy equipment as necessary
- Ability to enter confined spaces as necessary
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma / GED & 2 years of Industrial maintenance experience
OR
- Vocational school or Associate's degree in a related field
- Production and SAP Experience preferred
