Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North Americas first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are Americas first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.
POSITION SCOPE
The Refinery Production Superintendent is primarily responsible for evaluating, developing and implementing integrated process and product solutions for all the Refinery operations including product quality and consistency, cost, energy, capacity, efficient use of resources, safety and environment. The Refinery Production Superintendent is a dedicated, on-site subject matter expert and resource to the Refinery Team and will support the rapid development of processes required to create meet company standards. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills with the ability to build and foster positive business relationships across the organization.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
+ A bachelors degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering or related field from an accredited university is required
+ 7-10 years of experience in a Process Engineering or Process Management role
+ At least 5 years of experience in the use and interpretation of process simulation
+ At least 5 years of applicable experience working with laboratory, pilot and plant scale projects.
+ Prior experience working in Food Manufacturing or CPG is highly preferred

+ Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook on an Advanced Level
+ Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing, fostering strong lines of communication across the business
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Ensure that business approved projects are implemented on the plant scale in a timely, cost effective and safe manner by using a combination of process experience and judgement
+ Evaluates, develops and implements integrated processes and product solutions for applicable FCC Group operations including product quality and consistency, cost, energy, capacity, efficient use of resources, safety and environmental
+ Develops and maintains a close, synergistic relationship with the DC team to ensure combined input to meet production.
+ Transfers knowledge, results of work and proposals to personnel at all levels by high standard reporting, presentations and other appropriate methods
+ Works proactively and with flexibility with a number of teams DC, Mill etc.
+ Assists in developing cross-functional skills for enabling product development and implementation through training and coaching.
+ Provides chemical engineering subject matter expertise for internal consultancy.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
+ Responsible for managing multiple shift Supervisors.
+ Conducts regular meetings with direct reports to keep them informed of current problems, changes and new developments in the department and company
+ Monitors work productivity and recommends and implements changes to improve work productivity.
+ Plans and monitors workload for timely and accurate completion
+ Coordinates workflow and procedures to maximize service.
+ Coaches and counsels direct reports on performance issues
+ Completes annual and semi-annual (where appropriate) performance appraisals for all direct reports in a timely manner and meets with staff to discuss and deliver the final appraisal
+ Arranges for cross training of teams to maximize productivity and provide coverage of all functions
+ Completes time off approvals and scheduling for coverage as needed
+ Administers all policies and procedures set forth by FCC Group
