Refrigeration Technician – Direct PlacementBaytown, TXPay - $35/hour to $45/hourMonday through Friday BenefitsFull Medical – Dental - Vision Your major responsibilities will be:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate process refrigeration systems, including startup and shutdown of process refrigeration systems.
• Perform shutdown maintenance and repairs on processed refrigeration systems.
• Provide maintenance, operation, and emergency response for process refrigeration machines.
• Perform the transfer of refrigerant (ammonia and CFC's) oils to meet environmental regulatory requirements.
• Comply with the EPA regulatory requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Refrigerants.
• Compliance management. Ammonia emissions tracking and CFC refrigerant tracking.
• Respond to and mitigate leaks on processed refrigeration machines containing ammonia.
• Read and understand P&ID's and electrical control diagrams.
• Execute preventive slash predictive maintenance unit readings (SKF software).
• Right Level 2 work plans for ammonia related work on processed refrigeration machines.

The basic qualifications needed for this position are:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial or commercial large tonnage refrigeration and systems.
• Five years of experience maintaining industrial or commercial refrigeration control systems.
• The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification credential TWIC within a reasonable time frame.
• Possess a valid Texas driver's license.

However, our preferred qualifications are:

• Associate degree or certification from a technical school or military technical expertise.
• Possess a 24-hour HAZMAT certification or be willing to complete the required training.
• Experience in screw compressor refrigeration.
• Ability to troubleshoot analog, pneumatic, microprocessor and computer-based issues.
• Experience with absorption refrigeration units.
• Federal EPA refrigerant certification. (Type 2 and Type 3 or Universal).

Knowledge and Skills.

• Knowledge of 5S or lean manufacturing methodology.
• SAP knowledge.
• Microsoft Office products and experience with computer-based training.
• Fit tested for respiratory protection.
• Routinely push, pull and lift 50 lbs while performing normal duties.
• Walk, stand near for extended periods of time, climb stairs, vertical ladders and work at heights more than 100 feet.
