**JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:**

The Regional Director for Housing and Food Services (HFS), Commonwealth Campuses(CWC), provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the housing and dining experience at nineteen campuses of the Pennsylvania State University. The Regional Director would be part of the Central Administrative team that has responsibilities for over 70 undergraduate facilities accommodating more than 6,000 residential students. The budget at these campuses is over 60 million dollars, and the staff is comprised of over 200 management and administrative support employees, technical service (bargaining unit) employees, para-professionals, and hundreds of part-time student employees. The Regional Director reports to the Senior Director for Housing and Food Services, Commonwealth Campuses, and serves on the central leadership team for the Commonwealth Campus Housing and Food Service Operations.

Key responsibilities include:

* manage, train, and counsel assigned directors and managers

* ensure overall quality of products and services offered across all Commonwealth Campuses

* assist the Senior Director in planning and implementing a long range facilities plan for the CWC locations that focuses on new construction, renovation, and preventative maintenance

* participate in new construction and renovation projects, and the selection of architects and service providers

* develop, along with the Senior Director, the campus operational budgets with attention to cost control and income generation

* support the human resources of HFS through recruitment, training development, and supervision

* work to mitigate risk while planning for and responding to emergency situations

* demonstrate a presence at all residential campuses through regular campus visits and regular communication with the HFS and campus staff

* champion quality customer service

* cultivate communication, teamwork, and residential experiences that are welcoming and inclusive of all students, employees, and customers

* demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion by leading and supporting such activities and initiatives

* connecting with student leaders through meetings with the Council of Commonwealth Campus Student Governments and Residence Hall Government members

* develop effective partnerships with colleagues in a variety of offices inside and outside of Housing and Food Services including University Police, Physical Plant, and Student Affairs

* serve on university-wide, Auxiliary and Business Services and HFS committees as needed

Administrative offices for the Commonwealth Campuses are located on the University Park Campus.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in a hospitality, business or a nutrition related discipline or higher plus seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate should have experience in facilities management and construction with a particular focus on sustainability, experience in maximizing fiscal and human resources, and excellent interpersonal skills that encourage collaboration and cooperation. Experience in progressively responsible positions in housing and food services is required. Extensive travel is required. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job responsibilities. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
