About Chelsea Public Schools:The Chelsea Public Schools (CPS) is a gateway school system that welcomes and educates all students and families. - Performs psychological assessments and presents in an oral and written format
- Provides individual and group therapy to designated special needs students
- Provides crisis intervention
- Screens referrals in conjunction with other designated school personnel
- Participates in the prereferral process as needed
- Consults on a regular basis with classroom teachers regarding special needs students
- Performs other duties assigned by the District Principal or the Director of Special Education
Qualifications Required:
Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education licensure as a School PsychologistExperience working with a diverse populationLicensed as a Psychologist in MassachusettsM.Ed. school psychologyKnowledge of: integration and inclusive models of instruction; differentiated instruction and response to intervention; curriculum modifications, behavior management strategies, and learning stylesAbility to: perform and interpret psychological evaluations, including projectives; provide individual and small group therapy to the school-age students; work closely and harmoniously with parents, teachers, and administratorsKnowledge of special education programs and regulationsCitizenship, residency or work visa requiredQualifications Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish
- Experience working in a school setting
Terms:All teachers are members of the Chelsea Teachers Union (CTU). The length of the school day is 6.5 hours, but subject to longer hours for schools with extended day.
