Regional Operations Director – Energy ServicesHybrid position Located in the Northeast USA (From Maine to New Jersey)Our Client is a leader in the Energy Services, HVAC and Controls Industry. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Operations Director- Energy Services to join their mature and highly successful team. This is a customer-facing role that partners with sales, project development engineers (PDE), and executive leadership to drive vision, strategy, and customer experience across the region.If you are a visionary leader with a proven track record in operational excellence this is an exceptional opportunity to lead the top-performing region within a high-growth, industry-leading company. • Leadership & Strategy: Oversee operations across 8 states and 15 offices, managing service, contracting, controls, and turnkey projects. Set and execute the strategic vision for a large and profitable territory, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
• Team Management: Lead a team of 5-6 direct reports, including multiple Area Managers and Team Leaders overseeing the installation of projects. Collaborate with pre-construction and project development teams, ensuring seamless execution of large, complex energy solutions.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with C-suite executives (CEO, CFO) and key decision-makers to develop and sell complex energy solutions. Lead strategic meetings, driving long-term value and customer satisfaction.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the full contracting process for energy services, from order validation to final execution. Ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions in energy, HVAC, and building automation projects.
• Business Development: Focus on creating and executing growth strategies within the energy services sector, which represents 35-40% of the business. Lead efforts to develop innovative solutions, avoiding reliance on RFP responses.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management with expertise in mechanical systems and large-scale construction projects.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading operations and construction teams within the energy services sector.
• Strong understanding of general contracting (GC), design-build, and energy solutions, with a proven ability to operate in a complex market.
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to influence and work with high-level executives.
