Job Description: SUMMARY The Regional Security Manager supervises route security officers and manages security operations in the region. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, supervision of route security personnel, coordination of route security scheduling and vehicle assignments, conducting shift briefings, communicating operational changes to security management, provide safety and security to employees and property both internally and externally, surveying and assessing potential risks and threats, assisting law enforcement in the investigative process, and recommending improvements for enhancing security operations through the chain of command.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Supervise, recruit, train, and evaluate route security personnel
- Manage internal and external security operations
- Communication and collaboration with Route Management and other department heads and employees
- Conduct route security scheduling, operational briefing, and coordinate vehicle assignments
- Perform office and route security duties
- Maintain situational and tactical awareness throughout the shift
- Liaise with establishment owners and public safety officials
- Assist other region security operations and other departments
- Document and report suspicious incidents
- Complete all investigative reporting requirements in a timely manner
- Maintain all certifications, licenses, and training requirements
- Respond to workplace violence incidents using appropriate levels of force
- Provide first aid to victims at the appropriate level corresponding to training
- Respond to weather, natural disaster, structural emergencies, fires, etc. and make informed evaluations for employee safety
- In the event of an evacuation, direct employees to evacuation points
QUALIFICATIONS - 2 years or more years of route security experience with Accel
- Consistent exemplary performance evaluations
- Illinois Retired Officer Concealed Carry (IROCC) or ISP Retiree Shoot qualified
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Understanding of information technology equipment and operational use of video surveillance equipment
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Versatility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Strong tactical, weapon handling, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage potentially dangerous incidents
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Terminal Handler's License from the Illinois Gaming Board
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT - Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, talk, and hear
- Frequently required to drive long distances for operational activities
- May engage in rapid physical movements in response to emergency situations
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity, including use of a keyboard
- Occasionally required to lift/push weights more than 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust or focus
- Occasionally engage in physical techniques to control physically resisting subjects with an appropriate level of force
- Remain certified in CPR/AED and first aid and provide an initial response to medical emergencies
- Exposure to outside weather conditions
- Proficient in use of firearms
- Protective equipment is required that may include firearms, flashlights, restraint gear, etc.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
