Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY :The Registered Dietitian (RD) provides specialized nutrition counseling and Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) education to patients and families. This includes addressing a variety of conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal disease, malnutrition/weight management, failure to thrive in infants, cancer, gastrointestinal disorders, sports nutrition, and general healthy eating.The RD will:
- Conduct nutrition assessments and identify patients at nutritional risk.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized nutrition plans based on patient needs and established clinical guidelines.
- Assess and evaluate outpatients receiving home tube feedings as required.
- Serve as a resource to nursing and multidisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
This role operates in both the School-Based Health and Main Clinic settings and provides care through both in-person and telehealth visits as needed.RequirementsBachelor's Degree or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in Foods and Nutrition including completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship with eligibility to take the Registered Dietitian examination with the Commission on Dietetics Registration/Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and passes the examination with 6 months of the dietetic internship.•Registered Dietitian (RD) by Commission on Dietetic Registration/Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics•Active New York State Dietetics License recommended•Active Driver's License•Accredited Dietetic Internship (DI) by the American Dietetic Association (ADA)•Food Handler's permit or ServeSafe certification as per state requirementsSalary Description $65,000
