A nonprofit in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse, who is a dedicated and experienced individual to help oversee the day-to-day operations of Health Services for foster care, residential, and juvenile justice-involved youth. This role requires direct involvement in the delivery of medical services to individuals in care. The program provides vital support to youth, and the nurse will play a critical role in ensuring the youth's well-being. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and have a strong medical background, with experience working with vulnerable populations.
About the Opportunity:

- Hours: 7am to 3pm or 1pm to 9pm

Responsibilities:
- Provide general medical care and treatment to individuals in the program on-site at the clinic, ensuring all health needs are met in a timely and professional manner
- Administer medications, ensuring correct dosage, timing, and documentation
- Conduct thorough health evaluations, including assessments and screenings, for all individuals served. Ensure that follow-ups are completed as necessary
- Record physical findings based on the patient's current condition and document all medical interventions
- Regularly review pediatric guidelines for care, with a special focus on immunizations, testing, and treatment
- Assist with medical examinations after incidents to evaluate the health of the youth and determine the next steps in care
- Serve on call for any triage-related situations, managing urgent health concerns and providing quick assessments to determine if further medical attention is required
- Assist with home visits and community provider visits as needed to follow up on patient health and ensure the necessary services are in place
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Health Services team
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Clinical and Case Management in a Health setting
- Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong focus on medication administration, first aid, and triage
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and the ability to use technology for documentation and communication purposes
- Ability to foster a positive and encouraging attitude toward consumers, promoting their capabilities while acknowledging their limitations
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
