Job Description:
The primary role is to develop the Medical Assistant Teams and Medical Assistant Leads at SCL Health Medical Group Clinics with a focus on workflows, protocols and team building and development. This role will strongly collaborate with the Clinic Managers and partner with Process Improvement, Ambulatory Informatics, Pharmacy and other system resources.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for development and coaching of Medical Assistants (MA)Responsible for developing MA and MA lead clinic orientation and trainingmaterials. Maintain accountability with lead MA to accomplish orientation,education and training of MA staffCoach providers and MAs on building trusting work relationships thatmaximize patient centered careAct as a Subject Matter Expert for the MA Scope of PracticeMake quality improvement recommendations by observing workflows, studying, evaluating and redesigning processesResponsible for execution of MA role in pharmacy guidelines including vaccine administration process, controlled substances, CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) proficiency and general medication safety practicesResponsible for identifying, creating, implementing and standardizing necessary MA protocolsParticipate in clinic QI (Quality Improvement) meetings to support MA driven measures (for example, measures that rely on inreach) and actively participate in clinic process improvement projects that focus on the MA roleParticipate in the interview process by providing guidance to lead MAsPromotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.Performs other duties as assigned.
