Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ongoing assessment and rapid identification of changes in condition
- Crisis intervention and management
- Provide ongoing patient and family education
- Facilitate and arrange for appropriate discharge plan
- Support the Emergency Dept. and nursing professionals by participating in dept. meetings and serving on hospital committees.
Requirements:
- Valid NYS Nursing Licensure
- Minimum 1-year med / surg experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Qualifications:
- ACLS/BLS certification
- TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred
- Prior ED or Critical Care experience
- Basic Coronary Care Course within 8 months of employment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to function as a member of a team
- ED experience preferred; exceptional candidates from other backgrounds considered
- Flexibility required to work varied shifts including weekends and holiday rotation
