Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Endoscopy will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing gastrointestinal (GI) procedures in an endoscopy setting. The role requires a nurse with specialized knowledge and experience in GI or endoscopy procedures, as well as proficiency in patient care, monitoring, and recovery post-procedure.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide nursing care and support to patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort levels throughout the procedure.
- Assist the physician during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety.
- Educate patients and families on the procedure and aftercare instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, and recovery progress.
- Collaborate with the endoscopy team to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow.
- Adhere to all hospital protocols, infection control procedures, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications: Experience: - At least 1 year of GI or Endoscopy experience.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current (CA) Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) recognition required.
Skills/Knowledge: - Proficiency in endoscopy and GI nursing practices.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Certified Gastrointestinal Registered Nurse (CGRN) preferred.
Additional Information: - The position will provide Surgery Department hospital scrubs.
Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
