Job Summary:Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.Key Responsibilities: Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary. Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. Deliver patient care competently. Interact with family and patient in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Inform patient and family of hospital procedures. Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegate tasks to support staff.General Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills & Experience: 1 year of experience. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills.Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program.Required Certifications & Licensure: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. ACLS (American Heart Association).
