Melmark OverviewMelmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.Nurse OverviewThe Nurse is responsible for managing and resolving health concerns for individuals in Melmark's school and residential programs. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized health care services, while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The Nurse ensures the delivery of high-quality care aligned with nursing standards and Melmark's mission to serve individuals with autism spectrum disorders, neurological diseases, and other developmental challenges.Nurse Schedule and Salary Information
  • Full-time position with rotating on-call duties, including weekends and holidays.
  • $87,500 - $106,500 based on education and experience.
Nurse Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure through the Massachusetts Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and minimum age of 21.
  • Strong general nursing skills, with experience in caring for individuals with emotional, behavioral, neurological, or developmental disabilities.
Nurse Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, efficient, and high-quality nursing care for individuals in school and residential programs.
  • Assess and monitor health care plans for effectiveness and quality of care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including nursing care plans and treatment documentation.
  • Transcribe and execute physicians' orders while ensuring continuity of care.
  • Act as a liaison between individuals, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Respond to crisis situations and resolve student or family health-related complaints.
  • Conduct family healthcare education to enhance knowledge and behavior around health interventions.
  • Participate in individual care goal setting and ensure staff are properly trained in healthcare services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Residential Services and other program leaders on health-related issues.
  • Participate in committees and lead healthcare-related trainings for staff.
