Registered Nurse , Marilyn Sands Outpatient Clinic - Wound and Pulmonary - Thompson Health : Job Details

Schedule: Per diem position: Thursdays and Fridays, days

Main Function:

* Assist providers in our Pulmonary clinic caring for patients with various acute and chronic pulmonary conditions

* Assess, monitor and document various types of wounds.

* Assist the physician in developing and implementing personalized plans based on the patients needs and medical history.

* Provide patient education on wound management and pulmonary conditions and follow up care.

* Assist the physician with wound dressings and specialized procedures as needed.

* Maintain accurate and detailed patient records regarding wound assessment and healing.

* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Required Job Specific Competencies:

* Demonstrates skill in provision of care appropriate to the age of patients in wound clinic and pulmonary clinic

* Demonstrates competence in wound care and has knowledge of recognized best practices in specialty

* Provides care in a safe manner cognizant of available resources

* Exhibits the ability to establish a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship

* Exhibits the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with office staff, providers, and health system medical leaders

* Exhibits the ability to access data reflective of the patient's status, interprets this data, identifies patient needs and provides the necessary care

* Demonstrates the ability to work without direct supervision and exhibits flexibility in decision making and prioritizing

* Maintains current knowledge of and ability to institute programs necessary to comply with evolving regulatory requirements

* Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and health system

Qualifications:

* Current NYS RN license required

* Current Infection Control Certificate required

* BLS required

Education:

* AAS in nursing

* BSN preferred

Experience:

* Two years of recent nursing experience required

* Wound care certification preferred

* Wound care and clinic experience preferred

* Recent Acute care experience preferred

Position Pay Range: $33.00-43.00/hour

Starting Pay: Based on experience
