Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Maternal Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to mothers and their children up to 18 at their homes. This role involves working closely with families to ensure a safe and supportive environment, facilitating a positive birthing experience, and addressing the physical and emotional needs of patients.

Duties

• Monitor the health status of mothers and newborns before, during, and after delivery.
• Provides care to children up to 18 years of age.
• Provide education and support to new parents regarding infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
• Administer medications and perform necessary medical procedures as required.
• Assist in labor management, including monitoring contractions and fetal heart rates.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Conduct assessments of maternal and infant health, including vital signs and developmental milestones.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
• Respond promptly to emergencies or complications that may arise during labor or postpartum.

Skills

• Proficient in infant care, ensuring the safety and well-being of newborns.
• Two years of previous acute care experience in MedSurg, Maternal and child care, Critical Care, Pediatrics.
• Current Maternal Child home health experience.
• Strong communication skills to effectively educate families on maternity-related topics.
• Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient-centered care.
• Active AHA BLS
