Position Summary:The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive patient care, administer medications, and monitor patient responses while maintaining meticulous health records. This role includes supporting blood donation services in a donor room environment, with occasional travel to blood drives. The position requires strong IV and phlebotomy skills and experience in ambulatory or procedural care. Ideal candidates should be able to work independently and demonstrate proficiency in charge nurse responsibilities and patient care adjustments.Key Responsibilities:1. Patient Care & Monitoring:
- Maintain accurate and thorough health care records, documenting all treatments and patient responses.
- Record and monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and condition changes.
- Assess, implement, and modify patient care plans with input from the healthcare team.
- Administer non-intravenous medications and monitor for side effects.
2. Medication Administration & Testing:
- Administer medications, ensuring proper documentation and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Order and interpret medical diagnostic and clinical tests as required.
- Prescribe assistive devices and treatment options according to patient needs.
3. Blood Donation Support:
- Work in the donor room to assist with blood collection, and occasionally travel to off-site blood drives.
- Utilize strong IV and phlebotomy skills to manage donor care and collection procedures.
4. Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with the healthcare team to develop and adjust patient care plans.
- Modify treatment plans as necessary based on patient responses and condition changes.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum experience in ambulatory/procedural care and charge nurse responsibilities.
- Strong IV and phlebotomy skills are essential.
- Apheresis or blood donor experience is highly preferred.
- Shifts & Schedule:
- Rotating shifts: 7 AM - 3:30 PM, 7 AM - 5:30 PM, 8 AM - 4:30 PM, 10 AM - 6:30 PM, 12 PM - 8:30 PM, 7 AM - 7:30 PM, 8 AM - 8:30 PM.
- Weekend shifts every other weekend, typically Saturday/Sunday 7 AM - 3:30 PM, and during the week, any combination of the shifts above.
- 40 hours per week, 1.0 FTE.
