A health services agency on Long Island is looking to add a new, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Pediatric OPWDD team at one of their Schools in Suffolk County.About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 2 flexible days per week. Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 3pm
- Setting: OPWDD School
- Patient Population: OPWDD
- Patient Population: 5-21 yr old students
Responsibilities:The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Daily attendance to students enrolled
- Treatment of all children for illness and injuries-treat, record and notify parents
- Administer medications daily, record and maintain up to date records.
- Maintain up to date student's records on all students ie: physicals and immunizations
- Administer mantoux's as needed to all staff and new employees and maintain records
- Staff in services as needed (OSHA, Universal precautions, safety etc)
- Administer care to staff in case of injury and complete incident reports as per DDI regulations and maintain monthly tracking
- Handle all medical emergencies within building
- Order supplies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Solid assessment, clinical and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- OPWDD background
