Job Details We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our summer camp team. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, providing immediate care for a range of injuries and illnesses, and supporting a vibrant camp community. As a Summer Camp Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff, administering medications, and responding to emergencies.Location:Camp Pinecliffe in Harrison, MaineWork Schedule:&bull \tWeekly Hours: 48.5 hours per week&bull \tShifts:o\tTwo 7.5-hour shiftso\tTwo 10.5-hour shiftso\tOne overnight shift&bull \tDays Off: Two days off each week to explore the area&bull \tCamp Infirmary Hours: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with breaks during meal times after-hours duties foremergencies onlyAccommodation & Benefits:&bull \tPrivate, air-conditioned sleeping quarters on camp property (linens and towels provided)&bull \tThree meals per day provided&bull \tCamp vehicle available for transportation or use your own car&bull \tOpportunity to enjoy two full days off each week to explore the local areaKey Responsibilities:&bull \tOn-Site Assessments: Conduct evaluations of injuries and illnesses in a timely and professional manner&bull \tMedication Administration: Dispense prescribed medications and maintain accurate records of all medications administered&bull \tEmergent Response: Respond immediately to medical emergencies, including basic first aid, CPR, and transport to local clinics or emergency rooms when necessary&bull \tSupply Management: Maintain inventory of medical supplies, order replacements, and ensure the infirmary is stocked with essential items&bull \tHealth and Safety: Monitor the health of campers and staff, including any pre-existing conditions or new medical concerns, and provide necessary care&bull \tPreparation for Camp Season: Arrive two weeks prior to the start of the camp to set up the infirmary, prepare medications, and organize medical suppliesRequired Qualifications:&bull \tCurrent RN (Registered Nurse) licensure in Maine, or Compact Status&bull \tAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks&bull \tStrong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, staff, and parents&bull \tAbility to adapt to the fast-paced, dynamic camp environment&bull \tMust be comfortable handling emergencies and making quick decisions&bull \tBLS certification (current)Preferred Skills:&bull \tExperience in emergency care, pediatrics, or camp nursing &bull \tAbility to maintain calm and professionalism in high-stress situations&bull \tOrganizational skills to manage medical supplies and records efficientlyCompensation:&bull \tBi-weekly pay&bull \tOn-site housing and meals provided&bull \tTransportation Reimbursement to and from camp&bull \tCamp vehicle for nurses' personal use (dependent on passing a license and background check) Benefits At AMN Healthcare we take care of our travelers!
