- Is responsible for the assessment, treatment and/or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
- Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs. Possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups.
- Utilizes holistic assessment skills, recognizing subtle, covert or abnormal signs and symptoms that include at least one of the following: involvement of patient/significant other, discharge needs, psychosocial needs, biophysical needs, environmental needs, teaching needs.
- Identifies nursing diagnosis and interdependent nursing problems and selects applicable nursing care standards to guide patient care. Recognizes issues/concerns that could impact development of mutual goals.
- The effectiveness of the Plan of Care is evaluated and communicated through exchange report; recommendations are made for future care and are consistent with current documentation.
- Communicates evaluation of, or changes in, patient status providing supportive data to the physician or health care team as appropriate.
- Demonstrates adherence to the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals for Hospitals as defined by Scope of Practice.
- Documentation reflects compliance with established Hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of role by adherence to NPSGs as it relates to area of practice.
- Completes required unit specific performance criteria checklist.
- Demonstrates proper Infection Prevention skills to include Standardized Protocols or procedures related to central lines and indwelling Foley catheters.
- Upholds all aspects of the Nursing Practice Act as defined by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Provides evidence of adherence to all nine (9) ANA Code of Ethics for the Nursing profession.
- Be in attendance on site and arrive to work on time.
- Must have current licensures as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.
- Must have and maintain current BLS Card, required.
- Must have and maintain ACLS and PALS Cards or obtain within six (6) months of assignment to department.
- Six (6) month time frame is at the discretion of the Department Director.
