Your role will involve managing complex care plans and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.*Responsibilities:** Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop goal-oriented care plans* Coordinate patient care activities, including admissions, discharges, and transfers* Respond effectively in emergencies and follow established protocols* Administer medications per HFSC policies with accurate documentation* Participate in inter-disciplinary collaboration to support patient-centered care* Serve as charge nurse after completing orientation, ensuring smooth unit operations* Document patient interactions per HFSC policy and ANA standards*Qualifications: ** Completion of an accredited nursing program* Current Connecticut RN license* Clinical competence* Valid Driver's license (NBU only)* CPR certification (required within 3 months)*Physical Demands** Continuous periods of walking, standing, bending, and reaching, with occasional sitting, climbing, squatting, and kneeling* Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs continuously, 20 lbs frequently, and up to 40 lbs regularly for patient assistance* Must be able to push/pull equipment and medication carts (up to 50 lbs occasionally)* Frequent use of fine and gross motor skills, sensory skills, and physical dexterity for passing medications, assessments, and treatments*Cognitive Demands** Strong independent problem-solving, abstract reasoning, and adaptability* Proficiency in English and medical terminology, with high attention to detail* Excellent communication skills, including active listening, negotiation, and teaching* Ability to perform mathematical operations, including basic arithmetic, ratios, and conversions*Work Demands** Primarily indoor work in occasionally noisy and distracting settings; occasionally outdoors* Potential exposure to pathogens, hazardous drugs, and bodily fluids; adherence to safety protocols required* Must be able to handle fluctuating schedules to meet patient care needs and respond to emergencies*About the Company:*At Hospital for Special Care (HFSC), we are a family of 1,300 dedicated employees and volunteers united in our mission to put patients at the center of everything we do.
