General Summary of Position

Unit Highlights

MedStar Georgetown's Perinatal Department consists of aLabor&Delivery/Inpatient Antepartum Suite along with a Mother-BabyCouplet Postpartum Unit. Perinatal nurses assess the mother and neonate in afamily-centered, holistic environment that supports the new family during thistime of changing needs. MedStar Georgetown is a designated Baby FriendlyHospital and regional referral center for high-risk mothers and infants, andenjoys a supportive and cooperative relationship with our outstanding Level IVNICU to provide excellent continuity of care for these families. Perinatalnurses collaborate with parenting services, antepartum/postpartum patienteducators and lactation specialists to provide comprehensive patient and familyeducation. Our diverse patient population includes both medically complex anduncomplicated patients. Perinatal nurses enjoy participating in collaborativegovernance at the unit and hospital level and are encouraged to attend a widevariety of educational opportunities, including AWHONN regional and nationalconferences.MedStar Georgetown University Hospital has been named oneof the Best Maternity Hospitals in 2022 by Newsweek magazine and Statista Inc.,a world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
  • Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.

This position has a hiring range of $38.00 - $63.30
