Join the inpatient pediatric transplant nursing team at MedStarGeorgetown University Hospital! Together, let's transform the lives of childrenand their families through the gift of transplant! Our state-of-the-art Pediatric Transplant Unit serves patients receiving carefor life-saving organ transplants, including liver, small bowel and multi-organtransplants (liver, stomach, small bowel, kidney, pancreas and colon). As oneof only seven centers that perform pediatric small bowel and multi-visceralorgan transplants, the Transplant Center for Children is the nation's third largesttransplant program. In fact, we perform five times as many transplants as theaverage transplant program. Our Pediatric Transplant Team provides complexmedical and surgical care for patients regionally, nationally, andinternationally. Our team is notable for its high success rates, history ofinnovation, cohesive teamwork, and family-friendly approach to the transplantprocess. The nurses on this unit work in collaboration with physicians,registered dietitians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, social workers,physical/occupational/speech therapists, clinical technicians, and child-lifespecialists to deliver high-quality care, transplant-focused care.*Various scheduling options available, including PRN*
Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.
