Registered Nurse (RN)- Float - Roswell Park Care Network - Roswell Park Cancer Institute : Job Details

Job Type Full-time Description Roswell Park Care Network's growing team is ready to add another great staff member. We are looking to hire a Full time Registered Nurse to Float between in our WNY offices. Brief Description of Duties:

• Follows orders written by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
• Obtain vital signs and/or medical history for patient's chart
• Patient education on discharge/post-procedure/treatment
• Triage calls and messages and route to appropriate staff member
• Performs nursing assessment that includes the holistic needs of each patient with consideration of his/her physiological, psychological, social, ethnic, cultural, educational and spiritual strengths and needs.
• Includes the patient and family and/or support system in the planning and delivery of care
• Ensures that patient safety is a priority goal in the delivery of healthcare
• Provides direct patient care activities with other professional disciplines to ensure that the plan of nursing intervention is consistent with and integrated with the total treatment plan
• Provides health education/teaching for patients, their families, and/or designated significant others regarding dermatologic conditions, treatments and procedures
• Confers with nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team regarding condition of patients and/or any unusual events or problems to ensure continuity of care
• Orders and maintains stock of medical supplies including but not limited to McKesson, Quest, Allegran accounts
• Contact patients regarding pathology results at the discretion of the provider
• Obtain prior authorization for procedures and/or medications as indicated
• Manage and track incoming and outgoing referrals
• Assist the front desk staff with scheduling and verify procedures are scheduled appropriately
• Prepare charts ahead of patient's appointment
• Prepare surgical instruments and supplies for procedures using sterile technique
• Assist with dermatology procedures using specialized medical equipment
• Precise and timely documentation in EMR
• Coordinate all biologic treatments and follow up
• Educates and trains Medical Assistants as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
• Experience with EMR software

* Starting pay for a successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include experience, relevant skills, training, education, location, business needs, or market demands. Salary Description $38.00 hr- $39.00hr
