The RN's at Samaritan Hematology and Oncology are an integral part of the care team. This position relies on RN collaboration with physicians and APP's, allowing for nursing judgement and critical thinking to be utilized in patient care, within a structured environment.
Candidates should have a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and strong communication and organizational skills are needed in this role. - JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
- Responsible for the management of oncology patients in an ambulatory care setting undergoing chemotherapy and various other treatments.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- The Hematology&Oncology teams at Samaritan Health Services specialize in diagnosing and treating adult cancer patients using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and biological therapy as well as treating a range of hematologic conditions. We educate patients about their illness, the treatment options and provide supportive care during treatment and into survivorship.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
- One (1) year nursing experience in a specialty clinic or acute care setting required. Oncology nursing experience preferred.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- OCN or equivalent certification required within three (3) years of hire.
