School RN is responsible for the maintenance of acceptable health standards, school health records and the emergency treatment of student and employee health problems. The work involves the responsibility for giving care to students and for performing related nursing services such as pupil health screening.*HOURS*: Days - 7:30a-2:30p, Monday through Friday, no weekends*Location*: Johnstown, New York*Description*:Assists the School Physician in physical, visual and auditory screening examinations of students and employees; Administers first aid and emergency treatment to students and employees; Prepares and maintains health records for school authorities; Assists at school immunization clinics; Arranges to transport sick or injured students or employees to hospital, home, doctor or dentist's office in cases of emergency; Orders, inventories and oversees the storage of first aid and related health supplies and equipment; Consults with attendance teachers and staff members concerning a variety of health factors related to non-attendance and communicable disease; Prepares records and reports as required.*RN Duties:** Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.* Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.* Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures and provide pre- and post-operative care.* Perform suture removal and assist with wound care management.* Conduct tube feeding for patients as needed.* Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (Epic).* Collaborate with healthcare professionals in case management to develop individualized patient care plans.* Provide support for patients in a Level II Trauma Center environment, ensuring timely interventions.* Assist ophthalmology specialists during examinations and procedures when required.* Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.*RN Experience:*Candidates should possess the following qualifications:* Valid RN license in NYS.* Experience in a Schools setting is preferred but not necessary.* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team in a School setting are essential.* A commitment to providing compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times.Join our dedicated team where your skills as a Registered Nurse will make a significant impact on the lives of our patients!Travel RN, Local Registered Nurse, School RNJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, Travel nursing, ContractPay: $51.00 per hourExpected hours: 40.00 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Referral program* Vision insuranceMedical Specialty:* Urgent CarePhysical Setting:* OutpatientSupplemental Pay:* Overtime payLicense/Certification:* BLS Certification (Required)Work Location: On the road
