Position Overview:A registered vascular technologist (RVT), also known as a vascular sonographer or vascular technician, performs non-invasive tests to help doctors diagnose and treat vascular disorders.Registered Vascular Tech Required Education, Skills and Experience:At least one year of prior vascular/endovascular or sonographer experiencePossess a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential obtained through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and/or a Registered Vascular Sonographer through the American Registry of Radiologic TechnologistsPrioritizes tasks and manages time effectivelyStays current in new procedures and maintains continued education creditsPatient- centered with the interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with the patients, physicians, and othersCandidate has a current CPR certificationKnowledge and correct use of body mechanicsCommunication skills necessary to present information in a clear, concise, and persuasive mannerRegistered Vascular Tech Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):Perform vascular ultrasound examsAssist surgeon with ultrasound portion of guided injections/aspirationsPrepare room and equipment for vascular proceduresProvide summarized ultrasound findings to the doctor in a timely mannerAnalyze information to identify abnormalities and help the doctor locate blockagesMaintain patient records in EMRObtain patients' personal information and medical historyVein mappingRespond appropriately in emergency situationsPerform vascular diagnostic studiesKeep exam area clean, stocked, and order supplies as neededProcess data for reportsPay Rate:$34-$38/hrRegistered Vascular Tech Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
