POSITION DETAILS

Guttman Community College seeks an experienced and dynamic professional to provide leadership and vision for the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar Director is the primary steward of all official collegiate academic records who manages all academic information; maintains/ensures the integrity, confidentiality, and security of all related documents in accordance with FERPA guidelines; and ensures compliance with University and College academic policies and procedures, as well as compliance with Federal and State laws.

The Registrar Director oversees technology-based student information services and systems essential to the College, including course registration, class scheduling, articulation agreements, attendance, grading, degree audits, transcripts, graduation, retention, and progress toward degree completion. Additionally, the Registrar Director promotes academic and enrollment strategic planning in alignment with the College's and University's enrollment objectives and overall strategic goals by analyzing and reporting on data concerning educational policies, curriculum, academics, and student performance to formulate policies. Moreover, the Registrar Director serves as advocate for the student body, and partners with College and University offices/departments to develop, implement, and enforce academic policies and procedures and foster seamless student services, aiming to provide high levels of service and productivity.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Registrar Director is responsible for ensuring that all curricula, policies, and courses are accurately reflected and kept current in the college catalog and student information systems; managing and processing course inventory and degree audit system with respect to program, title, credit and other significant changes as approved by the College Council, and Curriculum and other standing committees; and maintaining an archive of curricular changes. The Registrar Director will plan and direct all registration and add/drop processes in coordination with related units of the College; and ensure timeliness in the processing of posting grades, grade changes and academic standing. The Registrar Director will also communicate with the Provost and academic department chairs to promote creative and flexible scheduling; prepare final examination schedules; monitor available instructional space and scheduling needs, anticipate issues, and recommend necessary changes and improvements.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

+ Serve as the certifying official of the College regarding transcripts, enrollment, degree verification, and candidates for graduation; conduct audit procedures as appropriate.

+ Serve as a resource for matters related to curriculum, academic standards, interpretation of transfer credit, and graduation in partnership with various College and University academic and administrative offices.

+ Serve as the College's FERPA resource and compliance officer.

+ Serve as the College's certifying official and maintain responsibility for all student enrollment reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse.

+ Manage and direct compliance with Federal, State, and City report record keeping.

+ Audit student records, including academic performance and transfer credit evaluations.

+ Provide input into planning, implementation, and maintenance of computer programs and reports related to enrollment services and documentation; serve as a problem-solver for audit issues as they occur.

+ In connection with Marketing and Communication, oversee the dissemination of the Academic Calendar, Academic Catalogs, and campus Registration communications.

+ Serve on a variety of college committees; represent the College at University-wide meetings; and attend relevant college governance meetings to provide support and guidance pertinent to the role of the Office of the Registrar.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience within the CUNY System

+ Experience with software and platforms used in CUNY (e.g. CUNY First [PeopleSoft], DegreeWorks, CourseDog, etc.)

+ Supervisory Experience

+ Experience working in a diverse environment

* Oversees a wide array of enrollment and retention initiatives and special projects; recommends and administers enhanced technology applications to improve processing systems and data integrity

* Assesses outcomes and formulates responses to meet established goals and objectives; presents performance results data to facilitate executive decision-making

* Ensures reporting requirements are completed in timely and accurate manner to fulfill various legal obligations; maintains audit trails

* Manages professional and clerical staff as well as department budget

* Performs related duties as assigned.

$119,995 - $132,987; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
