The Registrar Records Analyst reports to the College of Law Associate Registrar and is an essential part of the College's student enrollment and student services group. The Registrar Records Analyst is part of a three-person team and collaborates with the Associate Registrar, and Assistant Registrar to manage a growing number of academic programs and an expanding student population. This position will work to provide operational, and systems support to all College of Law programs.

This position is the primary point of contact for students needing support with student facing systems (Degree Works and MySlice for example). They are also responsible for the management and resolution of assigned student service requests. High level student records responsibilities include management of student-facing systems and processes as well as acting as primary liaison between all academic programs to facilitate academic operations. The Registrar Records Analyst will assist in facilitating, troubleshooting, and resolving all in-person, phone and email inquiries from students, faculty and staff. This position will participate in the hiring and training of new student workers.

Education and Experience

* Bachelors degree and (3+) plus years of professional experience in an academic setting, preferably in academic affairs, enrollment management, or a registrar's office.

Skills and Knowledge

* Prior experience with the PeopleSoft student information system is preferred.

* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

* Must be able to think strategically and analytically and interpret data to analyze trends and solve problems.

* Detail oriented with the ability to execute multiple tasks independently with accuracy in an organized manner.

* Must be able to work with a high level of autonomy with minimal supervision.

* Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff daily. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required due to high level interaction with faculty, students, alumni, and administrators.

* Must be highly knowledgeable or attain a high level of knowledge regarding College of Law policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

* Maintain academic records pertaining to each student in compliance with all FERPA, ABA, and state bar requirements using student information system, independent documents, and hard copy.

* Meet with Associate and Assistant Registrar to assist with short- and long-range planning, to analyze existing office policies and procedures, make suggestions for improvements, and implement new and revised policies and procedures.

* Work with Assistant Registrar to convert historical, archived hardcopy records to electronic format.

* Execute standard queries and communicate the information in a logical manner for distribution to technical and non-technical recipients within the law school.

* In conjunction with Associate Registrar, assist in management and update of database used to compile all Bar exam process information and results for students to be used in compliance reporting.

* Oversight and operational support of processing of bar applications for all 50 states.

* Ensure that that all required forms are received prior to the published deadlines for all law students.

* Provide support to Assistant Registrar and The Office of Academic and Bar Success related to all JD bar passage research and follow-up required for compliance reporting to accrediting agency.

* Assist the Registrar's Office with planning, coordination, and processing of all non-standard student course registration, including waitlists, add/drop, course audits, pass/fail requests, cross-registration between law programs, and all necessary follow up documentation and communication for courses and for all program.

* Manage complex student records cases as needed.

* Collaborate with law program staff to manage and complete all first-year student registration.

* Work with all law program staff regarding student status changes.

* Make student status changes in student information system.

* Update student records based on outcomes of post semester analysis and processing related to academic status (i.e., academic dismissal, probation, warning).

* Support course scheduling operations by updating and publishing all academic course schedules.

* Provide operational support of grading processes at the end of each semester.

* Serve as the primary point-of-contact for students with questions regarding their records, as well as their use of Syracuse student-facing systems (Degree Works, MySlice, Registrar's SharePoint site) via all communication channels: Email, Student Service Requests, telephone, and walk-in traffic.

* As requested, author training documentation and content for Law Registrar SharePoint support site in support of students, faculty, and staff use of systems.
