POSITION SUMMARYAssists therapists to administer medically prescribed therapy treatment programs for patients. Completes administrative duties for department functions such as charge capture, equipment management/maintenance, scheduling patients, and other duties as assigned. Maintains confidentiality.QUALIFICATIONSRequired: Possess or be able to obtain current driver's license, or be able to provide an acceptable alternative; high school diploma or equivalent. Some college level coursework completed in the medical field. Computer literacy skills. Preferred: Medical terminology knowledge. TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDSAble to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach frequently. Possesses physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs. Must be able to see, hear and speak with or without assistive devices. Must be able to lift 50 pounds during patient mobility occasionally and 25 pounds or less frequently utilizing proper body mechanics. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists Therapist with patient during evaluations and treatments per direction of primary therapist.
- Prepares and maintains electronic documentation as required for the department in a timely manner, including billing, scheduling, and patient information.
- Maintains equipment needed for patient care per department standards.
- Completes all work in a timely and efficient manner per department standards and guidelines.
- Communicates essential information to primary Therapist and to others within the department to facilitate improved patient care.
