Job Details:Job Summary:The Rehabilitation Aide is responsible for assisting the Rehabilitation Therapists in the functional treatment program and carryover of treatment of the acutely ill patients, providing assistance with ambulation, therapeutic exercises, bathing activities, and other activities as directed. Rehabilitation aides would assist with cleaning equipment, treatment rooms before and after sessions, organizing and labeling new equipment, maintain inventory supplies, make calls to necessary service lines for necessary supplies repairs, or housekeeping needs. The Rehabilitation Aide would be responsible for assisting the patient to and from his room for therapy. Does related work as required.Responsibilities:* Assists the professional therapy team in providing patients with prescribed exercise, ambulation programs; · Assists patients in learning and following through with their prescribed Activities of daily living program. · Assists in setting up exercise equipment and assisting the patient in progressing though the required exercises; · Confers regularly with the therapists on assignments, patient progress, etc. · Attends staff meetings as required; · Maintains the supply area, advising professional staff of supply shortages for reordering. · Assists therapists in the provision of non-skilled services included but not limited to equipment/room setup, equipment follow, assessment and preparing patient readiness. · Recognizes and communicates changes in a patient status in a timely fashion. Recognizes impending emergencies and reacts appropriately. Provides input into their job duties and policies to enhance the delivery of care. · Maintains sanitary treatment/work environment including but not limited to equipment cleanliness, linen changing and replenishment, adheres to proper hand-washing techniques, , etc.. · Refills all needed supplies in a timely fashion. · Responsible for ordering and tracking necessary supplies in coordination with managers/director. · Assist with department clerical functions: answers phone, scheduling, communication boards, mail, , faxing, copying, data entry, etc. · Transport patients when necessary to or from the department and assisting patients on/off equipment as · Maintains knowledge of set up and basic functions of department equipment (lifts, adaptive equipment, exercise equipment, etc.). Qualifications/Requirements:Experience:Ideal experience would include 1-2 years of working and engaging with patients in a hospital environment.
