**Job Description**
BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional systems engineer for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).
Tell me about this job. This systems engineer will work with a highly skilled team providing critical program management and business analysis expertise to the government customer. The selected candidate must have knowledge of reliability technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and statistical techniques. Engineers with experience in assessment and modeling practices for development of subsystems with high Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time Between Maintenance (MTBM), logistical and administrative delay times, and effective reliability levels of components that are difficult to test in-situ will be most competitive for this position.
Experience in any of the following is preferred: design phases of reliability, availability, maintainability, supportability, and logistics; system integration and testing; maintainability demonstrations; reliability demonstrations; growth planning and testing; and/or sparing analyses.
The following experience is also highly desirable: executing Data Collection, Analysis, and Corrective Action System(s) (DCACAS) including Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System(s) (FRACAS); Acquisition development using Reliasoft products, and Reliasoft (XFRACAS) tooling; strong technical background in development of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); trend analysis, systemic & non-systemic, root cause analysis; and Corrective and Preventative Action (RCCA/PA).
The role of this position involves analyzing performance reports while complying with industry standards as well as analyzing preliminary plans and reliability engineering programs to achieve U.S Air Force reliability objectives. The candidate will provide guidance and assistance to the customer as they drive the development and execution of closed loop/corrective action principles, tracking hardware and software (HW/SW) improvements, and operational performance over time for the nation s next generation ICBM designs.
This position will operate in an organizational culture that develops and challenges employees to achieve high performance in a fast-paced, high-morale workplace using streamlined management policies and procedures. It is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to shape the development and deployment of the next generation intercontinental ballistic missile, the national security-critical backbone of our nuclear deterrent capability.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing team within a large defense company with an extraordinary, positive culture and mission focus. In this position, you will provide direct support to a national security-critical weapon system throughout engineering development, deployment and sustainment. You will help support several hundred personnel providing the government with ICBM expertise. You will become a trusted mission partner to the innovative, digital engineering-driven Air Force organization that is responsible to design, build, test, transition, and sustain the world s safest, most secure, and effective land-based nuclear deterrent, on-schedule. Do not miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Without any doubt, GBSD is one of the DoD s most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. GBSD is the Department of Defense s newest official program of record, having just achieved Milestone B. It enjoys broad, strong support at the national level. It is a long-term project - the weapon system will deploy over a nine-year period beginning in approximately 2026, and remain operational until at least 2075. GBSD is a career-defining program that will present unique and challenging opportunities that simply are not available with smaller projects.
