**Job Summary**

Responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and other reports on a quarterly and annual basis for various AEP legal entities, including SEC registrants. Also responsible for the preparation of various internal management reports and other supporting tasks, such as the creation of journal entries, participating in monthly closing process, or participating in monthly consolidation process. Responsible for providing leadership on projects related to accounting and reporting issues.

**Job Description**

**Work Designation -- remote** and based in these states in AEP's service territory: **OH, WV, VA, KY, TN, IN, MI, OK, TX, LA, AR** . Others states and locales may be considered based on payroll, benefits and taxes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Assist in the preparation of SEC and other financial reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, Form 1, and 3Q.

- Prepare journal entries to support consolidation process and financial statement preparation process.

- Assist in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data for internal and external customers.

- Perform analytical review of financial data.

- Prepare journal entries to support consolidation process and financial statement process.

- Interpret complex accounting theory.

- Interpret and apply accounting regulations and pronouncements.

- Keep abreast and stay informed of the latest rules, regulations, and reporting requirements of the SEC, FASB, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

- Assist in the Edgar and XBRL processes required for SEC filings.

- Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley control processes.

- Perform project management activities.

- Assist in cultivating positive business relationships between financial reporting and AEP business partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education requirements are listed below: **Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, or business with a concentration in accounting.**

Work Experience requirement listed below: **Three to five years** ' experience in accounting or financial reporting.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below: Prefer CPA or CFA or working towards such certification.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Physical demand level is Sedentary

- MBA preferred.

- Competency in written and oral communication.

- Proficient in Microsoft applications.

- Experience with business reporting tools preferred.

- Detail-oriented with an ability to employ a logical approach to accomplish objectives and solve issues.

- Ability to lead others.

- Ability to promote a positive culture within a team setting.

**INITIAL POSITION / BASE SALARY FUNDING: ($84,000 - $104,000). In addition to base salary, AEP offers competitive Total Rewards including: discretionary annual incentive, 401(k), pension, health insurance, vacation, educational assisance.**

$83,413.00-104,267.50 USD
