Job Description :
The Information Technology (IT) group of the Advanced Photon Source Engineering Support Division at Argonne is looking for a research aide student to assist Software Engineer (IT staff) in the following activities:
  • Design and development dynamic Web interface with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, extJS libraries
  • Assist in the development of software projects as determined by IT staff
  • Fix bugs and enhance existing applications
Required qualifications include:
  • Good knowledge of and some experience in designing and creating dynamic web interfaces with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flask, jQuery, and Bootstrap
  • Good knowledge and some experience with Object Oriented programming with Python and PHP, and other computer languages such as Linux scripts, SQL, etc.
  • Good knowledge in data structures and relational database concepts
  • Good trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Fast learner for new technologies
  • Basic knowledge of networking, Linux and Windows operating systems, and PC hardware
