. The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (GWU SMHS) is located in Washington, DC. One key focus of the GWU SMHS is to perform clinical translational research for neglected tropical diseases. Our goal is to examine the utility of repurposing therapies for use in viral diseases such as dengue, zika, chikungunya and COVID.
Located at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Research Assistant will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) with the clinical trials at GW and in Barranquilla, Colombia. This research support position contributes to research/development by assisting with experiments in a controlled laboratory setting. The core responsibilities of this position include assisting with data collection and administration of experimental procedures and assisting with administrative aspects of preparing manuscripts for publication. This position may perform some lab maintenance duties as a secondary function. This role typically works under immediate supervision, and the primary job functions do not require exercising independent judgment. This person will generate different reports from the data management system REDCap and assist with human samples of clinical trials of experimental therapies for infectious diseases and their complications that may include chikungunya, dengue, and Zika. This role supports the Colombian clinical site in the daily operations of the clinical trials including staff, REDCap database reporting and quality control.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
