Overview:

Kemin Nutrisurance is hiring a Temporary Research Assistant to join their team! In this role, you will provide research and development support for product development projects through scientific methodologies. This position may provide a supporting role in various research projects, or may independently perform small research projects as needed by the business unit.

This is position will go from August - February, with part time hours from Monday - Thursday. Hours are flexible throughout the day, averaging 32 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting R&D projects
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Performing basic data analysis, with supervision
  • Support other scientists in performing laboratory experiments.
  • Prepare and present research reports in multiple formats
  • Contribute to scientific publications used for internal purposes. May be cited as an authorfollowing Kemin authorship guidelines.
  • Must adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures, documentation and guidelines
  • On occasion the job may require physical effort to lift. More typically the job requires extensive use of computers. Must be able to walk, twist, bend, sit, stand, squat, reach, and ability to carry up to 30-40 lbs. for fairly short distances. May need to lift up to 55lbs.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • High School Diploma
    • 2-3 years of related experience
    • Associates degree preferred
  • Must be highly motivated, reliable and self-sufficient
  • Attention to detail and awareness of safety
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
