Applications received after February 23, 2024, may be reviewed depending on search progress and needs, but are not guaranteed full consideration._______________________________________________________________________________________________________BASIC FUNCTION:Perform research as part of a team related to microbial gene regulation and laboratory maintenance.Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform research as part of a team under the direction of Principal Investigator.Utilize techniques such as PCR, western blotting, DNA and RNA isolation, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, preparation of chemical stocks and solutions, aseptic technique, bacterial growth.Perform complex experiments involving use of highly technical instruments and devices under occasional review of Principal Investigator.Process, organize, and summarizes data, reporting experiment results using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet or statistical software applications or program platforms.Work collaboratively with others in the lab group.Provide training to undergraduate and graduate students as well as learning from trainees and Principal Investigator as appropriate.Assist in developing safety protocols and ensure implementation.Maintain laboratory equipment and perform laboratory maintenance.Place, receive, and complete invoicing orders for laboratory items.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform other duties as assigned.LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:Personal computers, printers and word processing, database management and spreadsheet software.
