Position
We are seeking an exceptional research associate who thrives in a fast-paced and creative environment. You will be part of the founding team and play a critical role in building new gene editing technologies to make a clinical impact. The ideal candidate has a broad range of molecular biology and computational biology skills and is eager to push our technology to new heights.
Responsibilities
● Clone and deliver libraries to mammalian cells using transfection and transduction techniques
● Execute and optimize NGS library preparation workflows
● Define, document, and improve protocols
● Collect, organize, and analyze data to help make key decisions
● Assist in lab organization, including ordering supplies and restocking
● Project planning in order to map out sets of experiments that advance towards key milestones
Required Qualifications
● BS/MS or equivalent experience in biology, biological engineering or a related field
● 5+ years hands-on molecular biology wet lab experience, including PCR and cloning (design, bacterial transformation, culture, plating, and plasmid purification)
● Ability to document and maintain an organized account of lab work and results
● Collaborative, curious, flexible, and strong communication skills
● Desire to work in a fast-paced environment where quick adaptation is required
Why you might be a good fit
● Experience with processing NGS data using Basespace, bcl2fastq, or custom scripts
● Experience in advanced cloning techniques (Type IIS, Gateway, Gibson, etc.)
● Experience with next-generation DNA sequencing library preparation
● Experience with pooled assays like CRISPR screening and technology development
● Experience with iPSC cell culture and/or neuronal cell culture
● Experience with project management and coordinating experiments with CROs
