Research Associate - NGS Sequencing Lab - Seqmatic : Job Details

About the Opportunity

SeqMatic has a Research Associate I position open to join our DNA sequencing services teams. The position requires a strong background in molecular biology, particularly nucleic acid purification and NGS / Omics workflows. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Sample accessioning using LIMS;
• Extract DNA and/or RNA from cells and tissues using manual and automated protocols;
• Prepare sequencing libraries from single-cells, DNA, and/or RNA;
• Operate Illumina sequencing instruments and other common laboratory equipment such as thermocyclers, qPCR machines, and benchtop centrifuges;
• Organize and maintain detailed experimental records and follow lab procedures;
• Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related science;

DNA Team

• 1+ years of hands-on experience with DNA and/or RNA extractions required;
• 1+ years of hands-on experience of Next Generation Sequencing library preparation (Illumina TruSeq, Nextera, Exome, etc.) required;
• 1+ years of hands-on experience operating Illumina sequencers (MiSeq, NextSeq, and/or NovaSeq) preferred but not required.
• Must be highly detail-oriented and have strong lab and analytical skills;
• Experience working in clinical lab setting is preferred but not required;
• Solid English language communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; accommodate a flexible schedule to support the workload
• Ability to work independently and with a team;
• US Citizen or Green Card
