Our work explores how T cell fate decisions are made and how these decisions influence their functions across various disease contexts. By combining genetically engineered mouse models, disease studies, and single-cell technologies, we aim to uncover the principles governing T cell fate and their functional roles across tissues. This individual will contribute to experimental research as well as organizational tasks in the lab. The successful candidate will work closely with senior group members, receiving guidance and mentorship while contributing to a collaborative research environment. The role provides opportunities to gain expertise in advanced immunological techniques, including flow cytometry, tissue processing, cell staining and culture, single-cell assays, and various disease modelsAdditionally, the Research Associate will assist in organizing and maintaining our mouse colony including weaning, genotyping and recording. - Isolate and process immune cells from various organs to support research objectives
- Stain and analyze immune cells using antibodies and flow cytometry techniques to investigate immune responses
- Develop and optimize cell culture assays, including ELISA, T cell-dendritic cell (DC) cocultures, and T cell receptor (TCR) cloning using hybridoma systems
- Assist in executing and evaluating mouse disease models to study immune functions and therapeutic interventions.
- Implement protocols for research projects, leveraging expertise to make recommendations for process improvement
- Collaborate with other scientists to achieve optimal experimental design and problem-solving
- Demonstrate good judgement informed by analysis of multiple sources of information
- Contribute to scientific publications and proposals by preparing data and results
- Assist with preparation and resource management of laboratory materials and supplies
- Other related duties as assigned
