Job Description:The Center for Health System Sustainability (CHeSS) at Brown University's School of Public Health seeks a dedicated Research Associate to drive its mission of identifying how health systems can maximize the health outcomes they produce and eliminate health disparities, given current levels of investment. As a model for international collaboration, CHeSS leverages cutting-edge technologies and data innovation to address global health challenges. The Research Associate will support the Center for Health System Sustainability's research and data initiatives by focusing on data accuracy, validation, and analysis. The Research Associate will carry out research on the differences in care delivery and the recording practices of drug use across countries, manage and verify critical healthcare datasets to ensure they can be used for cross-country health system comparisons, carry out research of secondary data examine variations in drug use and write up research articles and grants. This Research Associate is a seasonal limited funded position with an end date of June 30, 2025.Education and ExperienceMaster's degree in a related field (Ph.D. preferred) with 5-7 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, with considerable laboratory/research experience.Job CompetenciesIndicate the essential job competencies.   • Data Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Demonstrates exceptional accuracy in data management, committed to identifying and correcting discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
  • Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Uses strong analytical skills to interpret and verify complex data, troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions to improve data quality and relevance.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Data Standards: Understands healthcare coding systems (e.g., NDC, RxNorm, ATC) and regulatory standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure compliance and accuracy in datasets.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, sharing insights and findings to support collective project goals while communicating complex information.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Embraces change and new challenges in data and healthcare research, staying informed of relevant data management practices and regulatory updates in health system sustainability.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent grammatical, proof-reading, and editing skills; attention to detail.
  • Possess a willingness to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community
